Casa Grande golf course is mainstay for area play

Pinal County might have a lesser number of public golf courses available, but golf doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

At Casa Grande’s municipal Dave White Golf Course, rounds have consistently ticked up every year for the past five years. Year-over-year rounds played at Dave White increased by more than 2,000 in the past year and more than 7,700 in the last two years.

Steve Hardesty is the city’s community services director, whose division oversees the golf course. He said there are a number of factors that might contribute to the rise in golf rounds, which include but certainly aren’t limited to the closure of other courses in Pinal.
