Recycling in the dumps for Casa Grande unless residents pay more

The city of Casa Grande already has seen some limits placed on previously recyclable materials. Now the city is looking at whether the program is even affordable to continue.

How much will residents pay to have curbside recycling?
That’s the question the Casa Grande City Council would like answered.
Council members on Monday heard an update from Kevin Louis, director of public works, on the state of recycling in the city. But the outlook is pretty dire. Louis told the council that as protocols change with regard to the types of materials that can be recycled, the costs for the city to offer the program will continue to spiral upward.
