Casa Grande council to look at in-house ambulance service

The City Council appears poised to take the next step toward bringing ambulance service under the purview of the Casa Grande Fire Department.

At a study session Monday, council members again heard an update on what it would take to provide ambulance service. Council members previously heard an update on the process in June.

Ambulance service in Arizona is licensed and regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services, which issues a certificate of necessity for ambulance providers to be able to operate in a certain geographic region. In Casa Grande’s case, that certificate is issued to American Medical Response.
