Over the past 10 years, Susan Tatterson has visited plenty of eerie places across the country. And researching her new book, “Abandoned Arizona, Ghost Towns and Legends,” took her to some of the strangest spots in Arizona, including the so-called Casa Grande Domes on Thornton Road.
“I’ve visited a lot of creepy places, but the Domes are right up there, particularly as the sun is setting,” said Tatterson, a professor of digital photography at Central Arizona College. “As it gets dark, the weird echoes inside them seem to become even more pronounced.”
