CGUHS team one of 15 accepted for national competition

With a $10,000 grant, a team of eight Casa Grande Union High School science students hopes to develop a new device that will help control wildfires and protect homes.

The team of students is one of 15 nationwide selected to receive a Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam grant.

They’ll use the money to develop a working prototype for an automated wildfire protection system or device that would be activated to protect vulnerable homes or neighborhoods from wildfire.
