DPS captain says I-10 ‘safety zone’ working

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a “safety corridor” it’s established along Interstate 10 has been helpful at making the freeway safer for drivers.

Starting in 2016, the agency designated certain sections of highway to be subject to more supervision from state troopers. The part of I-10 running north of Casa Grande is one of four corridors in Arizona.

DPS Capt. David Nilson, who oversees the district encompassing Pinal County, recently told PinalCentral the safety corridor has generally resulted in less speeding and fewer accidents.
