Florence councilwoman resigns near the end of her term

Councilwoman Becki Guilin submitted her resignation from the Town Council with just six weeks left in her term.
She said in her letter of resignation, dated Oct. 17, that she was resigning to apply for a job with the town.
“I have no expectation of being hired other than to put my application to be considered with other applicants,” she wrote.
