New water facility in Marana has a four stage process for clean water

Out with the old and in with the new – officials said that Marana water is now better than ever.
Just a few months ago, Marana opened a Water Reclamation Facility and Recharge Project Facility. Tuesday morning, News 4 Tucson got a tour of the expansion and learned about the process that keeps water safe.
“The water at this facility is highly treated in this conventional process and disinfected with UV disinfection at the end,” said Marana Water Director John Kmiec. “It is returned back aquifer like all the treated wastewater in the community for future use.”
