Pinal’s Lantern Fest provides backdrop for many engagements
The annual Lantern Fest event at the Pinal Fairgrounds & Event Center holds a special place in the hearts of Kara De Young and Jalen Allen.
The couple had their first date at Lantern Fest in 2016, became engaged at the event in 2017 and on Dec. 22, De Young, a teacher at Grande Innovation Academy, and Allen, a teen coordinator at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley, will be married at the fairgrounds.
“Even though Lantern Fest is an event you share with thousands of people, if you’re there with the one you love, it’s still very personal and intimate,” De Young said.
