City Council members heard a presentation before their regular meeting Monday on the benefits of shopping local by Kimber Lanning of the Local First Arizona organization.
Lanning, whose organization works with small businesses to increase their economic footprint, said the biggest key toward small business retention and growth is customer service.
“It doesn’t matter how great the brand or logo is” if the customer service in a business is terrible, she said, adding if the customer service is bad “they ain’t coming back.”
