Proposed Pinal winery on hold after opposition aired

Owners of a proposed winery and tasting room in southern Pinal County will need to wait a few months before moving forward.

The owners, the Vicki Cox Golder Family Trust, want to convert an existing ranch house into a tasting room and wine shop and create an event hall out of a barn.

On Thursday, Pinal County Planning and Zoning commissioners heard about the family’s plans. County staff is recommending the zone change from rural to commercial to allow for the sale of wine and to allow for the event hall.
