‘Water/Ways’ exhibit in Florence explores our relationship with precious commodity

“Water is the oil of the 21st century,” a consultant told the Florence Town Council earlier this year.
This always-precious resource is the subject of a lavish multimedia presentation called “Water/Ways,” a Smithsonian exhibit that began traveling around the state this summer. Admission is free at McFarland State Historic Park through Dec. 30.
In keeping with the theme, the Florence Library and Community Center will host a series of speakers and movies on water topics through December. The Pinal County Historical Society museum will display historical relics and documents related to water, along with an exhibit on the Southwest’s lingering drought.
