Steward Health Care plans to reopen the Anthem hospital and begin seeing patients early in the new year, officials told the Town Council Monday.
The company also operates Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center in the Valley, plus other hospitals across the country. It plans to call its newest hospital “Florence Hospital, A Campus of Mountain Vista Medical Center,” Jacob Golich, president of Mountain Vista, told the council.
“Hopefully, we’ve got about a 60-day timeline (to open) we’re going to be working with,” he told PinalCentral afterward. The new hospital has scheduled a job fair for Dec. 12-13. The former Florence Hospital at Anthem on Hunt Highway at Franklin Road hasn’t seen patients since it suddenly closed its doors in June after years of financial struggle.
