Pinal to allow active military members to train for jobs

Pinal County is allowing active military service members to start training for jobs with the Sheriff’s Office before re-entering civilian life.

The county recently announced it was partnering with the U.S. Defense Department to offer training opportunities for the agency’s SkillBridge program.

According to DOD, service members approved to participate in SkillBridge can begin obtaining job experience six months before completing their military service. They’re relieved of their military responsibilities during that time in order to focus on their training.
