Water price hike hurting Florence golf course

A Three Parks Fairways official asked the town for a break in the cost of “gray water” or sewer plant effluent used for watering the golf course, which has gone up considerably in price from a year ago.

Town officials held a meeting Tuesday afternoon at the Caliente Casa de Sol clubhouse to hear input on the town budget. Eighteen citizens attended.

Town Finance Director Joe Jarvis responded after the meeting that the town’s recent rate study showed it was “significantly under-charging” the Florence Gardens golf course for effluent. With the recent price increase, “we’re covering our cost for the service.”
