Agriculture means $2.3 billion to Pinal economy, report says

It’s a major impact for agriculture in Pinal County.

A recently released study by the University of Arizona’s Agricultural & Resource Economics department says that agriculture – whether cattle, cotton, dairy or another crop – accounted for $1.1 billion in sales in 2016.

Nearly 5,200 full- and part-time jobs in the agriculture industry were reported that year as well.

In total agribusiness, the study found that 7,500 jobs exist in the overall industry and Pinal sees $2.3 billion in sales annually.
