Pinal County officials have approved an outside law firm to represent elected constables in a dispute over pay scales.
At the Board of Supervisors’ meeting Wednesday, supervisors voted 4-1 to hire a Phoenix-based law firm to represent the constables, who have been in a dispute with the county for months over pay rates and salary scales.
Supervisor Steve Miller, R-Casa Grande, questioned the process and necessity to hire the firm, let alone the wisdom, saying, “I assume they’re just going to sue us.”
