Pinal constables seek legal help in battle with supervisors over pay

A legal battle between elected officials in Pinal County is about to heat up.

On Wednesday, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors will vote on whether to allow outside legal counsel to represent the constables association.

Elected constables serving all six districts and the Board of Supervisors have been in a dispute since last summer, when the supervisors changed the rate of pay for the constables. The pay scale, which is required to be set every four years, was set at a lower rate for some constables based on workload.
