Casa Grande council tables ‘palm tree’ cell tower discussion

Opponents of a proposed cell tower got a two-week continuance from the Casa Grande City Council to make their case.

But Councilman Matt Herman said he hoped that the two sides could come to an agreement before the council takes up the issue again.

The site of the proposed 80-foot cell tower, which would be disguised as a palm tree, is a lot near Kortsen and Trekell roads. It would sit 15 feet back from Tierra Palmas Boulevard, a local access street. Neighbors living near the location told the City Council Monday that the tower wasn’t compatible with their neighborhood and implored the council to nix the project.
