Subdivision next to Johnson Utilities sewer plant on hold

The Town Council approved the final plat of a new D.R. Horton subdivision west of Hunt Highway, but were hesitant to approve another that bordered a Johnson Utilities wastewater plant.
Some council members noted the persistent odor complaints by residents near the Johnson Utilities plant up the road at Magic Ranch. A majority voted to table action on the subdivision for more information.
The subdivision on hold is Anthem at Merrill Ranch Unit 33, which would have 146 lots west of Hunt Highway and border the treatment plant on two sides.
