Draft budget points to promising future for Coolidge
by Rofida Khairalla | Coolidge Examiner
The first draft of the 2019-20 budget was brought before council last Monday, and overall numbers indicated that brighter days may be in store for Coolidge.
A study session of the draft city budget took place on April 8 — the first of several meetings that will take place to review the budget before it is finalized.
There was some bad news, with a 9.3-percent dip in city sales tax forecasted for Coolidge within the coming year in light of changes made to the Model City Tax Code. In addition, the city could potentially see a 15- to 20-percent cup in medical insurance costs.
