Coolidge mayor’s state of the city address critical of ‘division’ with Eloy

“I’m here to tell you, if you don’t want to play ball and you don’t get with the program, you could end up the same way and get carried off by the big dog.”
Mayor Jon Thompson gave his annual State of the City address on Wednesday at the Coolidge-Florence Elks Lodge, 2241 N. Attaway Road.
Unlike previous State of the City speeches Thompson has given, this year’s address took a somewhat unusual approach, featuring some muted messages for those in attendance and even a clip of a lion stalking and taking out its prey.
