City council hears about CDBG program

The Eloy City Council reviewed a presentation on the Community Development Block Grant program during its July 15 study session.

Tami Ryall, grants administrator for Pinal County, updated the council on the granted entitlement status for the CDBG program by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and how the county is inviting cities and towns to participate in the urban entitlement program.

Before being granted the entitlement status, the CDBG program still received its funding from the federal government, but it had to go through the state first.
