CAC celebrates 50 years of bringing education to Pinal County
by Rofida Khairalla | Coolidge Examiner
The year 1969 proved to be pivotal in Coolidge’s history. Over the course of that year, the city saw a number of revitalization efforts really take off, lead by the development of a brand new city hall, the construction of a new library and even the expansion of Coolidge High School.
It was also the year when Central Arizona College opened its doors to students for the first time. While the Signal Peak campus — the first CAC campus to make its debut in Pinal County — began offering courses to students in September 1969, the development of a community college was actually eight years in the making.
