Recap of August Pinal Partnership Government Relations Committee Meeting
The August Pinal Partnership Government Relations Committee meeting was packed full of information! Thank you to Committee Member Dale Weibusch for arranging use of Maricopa City Hall facilities.
Dorenda Coleman from the Arizona Army National Guard gave an update on the joint land use study (JLUS) underway with Pinal County and the importance their four installations in the county play in the economy and our safety. Currently, the Guard partners with 12 ally countries and many other agencies to help provide training.
Ben Bitter with the Town of Florence, and co-chair of the committee, provided information on the 2020 census and the importance of everyone being counted. Each person counted brings about $2,900 per year in revenue to the state. You can read more about the importance and help spread the word by visiting iCount2020.info.
Rebecca Timmer with Dibble Engineering, and co-chair of the committee, lead a discussion on legislative priorities for the upcoming legislative session as well as efforts to strengthen relationships with local elected officials.
