Public hearings slated on routes, environmental impact of North-South Freeway in Pinal County

The Arizona Department of Transportation will host public hearings next month in Eloy, Florence and the San Tan Valley on the environmental impact and the preferred route for a new North-South Freeway in Pinal County.

ADOT is releasing the first environmental impact statement on the planned freeway which would connect to Interstate 10 near Eloy, State Route 24 in Queen Creek and the U.S. 60 in Apache Junction.

The planned freeway corridor is 55 miles and would serve as a bypass of Interstate 10 and an economic corridor for fast growing Pinal County.
