Supervisor Pete Rios honored by Youth Empowerment Partners

[NEWS RELEASE] During the annual Youth Matter Forum, Supervisor Pete Rios was recognized for his continued support in bettering the lives of young individuals in Pinal County and the State of Arizona. A young student artist presented Supervisor Rios with an art piece that was created by students from Casa Grande and embodies the characteristics of Martin Luther King Jr.

Supervisor Rios was humbled by the gesture and encouraged the students to give back to their communities by being their best selves. Supervisor Rios thanked the Youth Empowerment Partners for their efforts in supporting Pinal County youth and highlighted middle school teacher, Gustavo McGrew for his hard work.

The Youth Matter Forum was hosted by the Youth Empowerment Partners at the San Tan Central Arizona College campus. This organization focuses on education, skill development, youth leadership/peer mentoring and high interest activities to provide young people the knowledge, skills and resources to model and promote health and wellness in their schools and communities.

The forum was well attended with over 70 students and a variety of partners. There was also a special appearance by the United Dance Company of Coolidge and the Pinal County Mobile Voter Outreach van.
