The town again will have two Circle K convenience stores, perhaps as soon as summer of 2021.

The Town Council on Monday recommended in favor of a new beer-and-wine license for a future Circle K at 3310 N. Hunt Highway. Deputy Town Manager/Town Clerk Lisa Garcia said the town received no public comments on the application, although several council members noted it did not mention the nearby American Leadership Academy school. The school is beyond the state 300-foot limit for alcohol sales under the drug- and alcohol-free zone, Garcia said.

Mayor Tara Walter noted Circle K representatives previously told the town they’d work to put new businesses in the two former stores on South Main Street, but they remain boarded up. “I’d appreciate if you talked about that with them,” she told town staff.
