Extended Census deadline gives Florence residents time to be counted

Town staff had planned to make computers available in the community center for residents to conveniently and easily respond to the once-a-decade U.S. census.

That’s no longer possible, but the town is still hoping for a good response.

“Filling out the 2020 census determines what the next decade will look like for your community: your roads, health care, schools, representation and more,” former president Barack Obama said on Twitter.

The deadline to respond online, by phone, or by mail has been extended to Aug. 14.
