Pinalcast: Girard says health care background prepares her for LD8 seat

Health care, education and water are just a few of the issues Eloy resident Sharon Girard wants to tackle if she’s elected to the Arizona House of Representatives.

Girard, a retired physician assistant, said she’s always been interested in helping others. It’s why she became a nurse and then a physician assistant more than 30 years ago. It’s why she’s always volunteered her time and expertise to the various community boards and organizations in the cities that she’s lived in.

But now that she’s retired, Girard said she’s finally able to really devote her time to her next big community project, running for political office. She is running for one of two House seats in Legislative District 8, which includes most of Casa Grande, part of Eloy, Coolidge and Florence. Two years ago she lost a bid for the Senate seat in LD8.
