The City Council has approved the construction of Taxiway A and drainage improvements for Eloy Municipal Airport.

The council approved two contracts with Rummel Construction and Dibble Engineering for their services to ensure that the airport meets the Federal Aviation Administration runway-to-taxiway separation standards by relocating the existing taxiway to approximately 300 feet from the runway.

Dibble Engineering will provide inspection and observation services to the construction project that includes relocating the existing taxiway — which is currently 200 feet from the center line of the runway, which is considered non-standard — in addition to constructing a new drainage channel and culvert along the northeastern portion of the airport and installing a new chain-link security fence.
