Smith wants to continue what she’s started on Maricopa council

Vice Mayor Nancy Smith is making a run for her third term on council. Propelled forward by her previous work on the council, she says she’d like to finish what she started in this next term.

Smith has been on the council for six years, but has lived in Maricopa since 2003 — just before it was incorporated. As she has witnessed the city grow, she has analyzed how best to address the growing pains that come with it.

For Smith, her priorities for her newest term revolve around four central ideas: infrastructure, economic development, budget and the quality of life for Maricopans. Within those broad categories, however, she has nailed down what she believes are the most pressing issues.
