[NEWS RELEASE] Superstition Community Food Bank (SCFC) has announced the election of Phil Tremonti as its new board president and Jim Walker as vice-president. Tremonti, a resident of Gold Canyon, has had a long affiliation with the food bank as both a board member and consultant. He brings fifty years of experience in business revitalization, accounting and finance to his new position. Walker, a resident of Queen Valley, holds a doctorate in education and has held a variety of leadership positions at the secondary school, vocational, and university levels for more than fifty years. Tremonti replaces Robert Mohle who has completed his term as president but will continue to serve on the board. “I’m looking forward to continuing Bob’s strong leadership and proactive vision,” says Tremonti. “He set the tone for operational excellence and strategic funding initiatives which we will continue to build on.”

SCFB has also announced that Shaunna Cooper-Smith will be the board secretary. The position of board treasurer is currently open. Three new members have been named to the board: Randy Beringer, Lynn Hanson, and Patricia Palermini will be bringing their extensive business backgrounds to directing the future of the food bank. Tremonti adds, “We are actively recruiting new board members with skill sets in the areas of accounting/finance, education, PR/marketing, social media, and fundraising. I urge anyone with these skills to give us a call and join what is now the largest and most acclaimed food bank in the East Valley. It’s a few hours of very rewarding time devoted to helping make life a little easier for the most vulnerable in our community.”
