The Nacero Casa Grande gasoline production plant is taking its first steps toward reality.

The Casa Grande City Council approved a 75-year agreement to sell effluent from its wastewater plant to Nacero at Monday night’s meeting.

Nacero is planning to build a $3 billion plant to convert natural gas to gasoline along Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway across from Abbott Nutrition and Frito-Lay. It expects to provide 2,000 construction jobs during the four years the plant is being built and 200 jobs after construction is completed. The plant could bring in $120.5 million in gross domestic product to the Pinal County and Casa Grande economy once it is completed.
