Expansion at Picacho Peak RV Resort aims to bring in more winter visitors, long-term residents

Nestled in the shadow of Picacho Peak, an area recreational vehicle and manufactured home park is poised to nearly double in size with the addition of new upscale residences, larger sites and more amenities.
Picacho Peak RV Resort attracts active retirees who enjoy hiking the nearby mountain, volunteering in the community and spending money at shops and restaurants, said park owner Mike Wirth.
With his plan to expand the park, Wirth expects to attract hundreds more visitors who will spread their money throughout the area, he said.
