Mayor candidates explain what they would accomplish in the first 100 days

Getting legislative help in bringing public transportation to the city of Apache Junction and finding funds for infrastructure in the industrial area south of U.S. Highway 60 are two of the top priorities candidates for mayor said they would accomplish during the first 100 days in office.
Apache Junction Councilmember Robin Barker and Vice Mayor Chip Wilson received the most votes for mayor out of five candidates on the Aug. 4 primary ballot. Since no candidate received the required majority vote as determined by state law, the top two candidates advance to the Nov. 3 general election.
A mayor and the three City Council members elected Aug. 4 will be seated during the first meeting in January 2021.
