Casa Grande residents upset over proposed 10-foot fence

Residents gathered at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Thursday evening to voice their concerns over a proposal for a fence being built by Cox Communications.

According to the agenda, the fence is required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Cox facilities nationwide are providing fencing around their sites for bolstered security measures.

“It has been a long-standing policy that Cox Communications utilize these measures to protect the critical facilities commonly known as data centers from destruction or interruption of 911 services and other communication capabilities for government, military, emergency responders and commerce,” Cox Communications said in a letter from April 2019.
