What has changed in Apache Junction since affordable-housing study was completed in 2010?

The housing assessment and strategic plan was funded by a grant from the Arizona Department of Housing and conducted in 2009-10 by the Drachman Institute, a planning and architecture organization housed by the University of Arizona in Tucson. The institute assessed demographic and land-use data to recommend solutions on affordable housing.

The Planning and Zoning Commission recently was briefed on the study’s findings and a decade of results, and the city council is slated to discuss them at a study session Nov. 16 or meeting Nov. 17. The meetings begin at 7 p.m. and are to be held in the council’s chambers, 300 E. Superstition Blvd.
