Eloy seeks reimbursement of some costs of new police station

The City Council adopted a resolution on Oct. 12 to declare an official intent to seek reimbursement of expenditures from the construction of the Police Department remodel project with proceeds of tax-exempt obligations in accordance with treasury regulation.

Although council approved the resolution, the city is not obligated to issue tax-exempt bonds, the resolution, however, does provide the city with another option to finance a portion of the police station construction.

City Manager Harvey Krauss told the council that like many other cities, Eloy has debt when it comes to the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System.
