Florence seeks $14.2M in state loans to bolster water infrastructure

Loans to the town of Florence of $9.1 million for drinking-water capital improvement projects and $5.1 million for wastewater projects may be considered at the Water Infrastructure Finance Authority of Arizona’s Dec. 17 meeting.

If approved, the loans will be repaid from the town’s water and wastewater system revenue and likely would not cause an increase in resident’s bills.

The Florence Town Council recently voted unanimously to approve separate resolutions seeking the funds, which were required to apply for WIFA financing, with Councilmember Michelle Cordes absent.
