Upon completing his second stint as a Coolidge City Councilmember, Jimmy Walker was recognized Monday night during a special meeting as someone who has served the town with passion and integrity.

“I knew him back when he was an officer,” said Mayor Jon Thompson. “He used to help us quite a bit when he’d come over here. He’s been an excellent addition to the council, he’s a team player and he cares about what happens in this community.”

Several of the councilmembers acknowledged fond memories of Walker dating back to his time as a police officer for the city; councilmember Steve Hudson said he’s known Walker for 35 years. “What you’ve given back to the city of Coolidge, I don’t know if I could have done that,” Hudson said. “So thank you very much.”
