Wins matching grant from state

A new state grant will help Florence ramp up its tourism efforts.

The town is partnering with the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce on the 2021 Arizona Office of Tourism Rural Cooperative Marketing Program. The chamber was awarded funding to purchase cooperative advertising and other services to promote tourism in Florence

“The Arizona Office of Tourism program is available to all destination marketing organizations in rural Arizona. The Florence Chamber of Commerce serves as the destination marketing organization for Florence,” said Jennifer Evans. management analyst for the town  of Florence, who worked on the grant. “The town asked the chamber to partner on this project with the understanding the town will contribute the matching funds required under the program terms. Florence understands the importance of promoting Florence’s tourism assets and the extra economic activity that this can bring to the community.”
