Superstition Community Food Bank recognized with $100,000 grant and director award

[NEWS RELEASE] The Superstition Community Food Bank (SCFB) has received a $100,000 grant from the Arizona Food Bank Network. The award was given to specifically support the food bank’s efforts in food preparation and storage and is especially timely for the planned expansion of refrigerator/freezer units now under way at the Apache Junction warehouse.

In other recent developments, Executive Director Myra Garcia was personally awarded the News 5 Pay It Forward Award of a $500 gift card. SCFB board member Pat Palermini nominated Ms. Garcia for the award which she immediately donated back to the food bank. The award notice will be televised on News Channel 5 December 24th and 26th during the 6pm news broadcast.
