Former mayor, 2 council members thanked for service to Apache Junction

Outgoing Apache Junction City Council members Robin Barker, Jeff Struble and Mayor Jeff Serdy were thanked recently for their years of service and had a chance to give thanks themselves.
Mrs. Barker ran unsuccessfully for mayor in the general election. She recently was appointed to the planning and zoning commission.
“I’d like to thank the voters for giving me the opportunity to represent our city for 22 years. It was a real privilege, believe me,” Ms. Barker said at the Jan. 5 meeting, also thanking city staff members. “It’s been an honor to serve with all of you.”
