Virtual learning a success for Casa Grande Ruins National Monument

Despite the loss of visitors due to the pandemic, Casa Grande Ruins National Monument has experienced a silver lining in the popularity of its virtual learning class, which has expanded the program’s reach.

The Ruins’ virtual program allows schools or even home-based students to enter a Zoom call with a park ranger, who will interact with the kids to teach them about what goes on at the park. All ages are invited to participate in the “Ask the Ranger” program where they will go over a set of pre-arranged topics of the students’ choosing.

For third and fourth graders, there is a special program called “The Ancestral Sonoran Desert People,” which compares life today with what it was like when the structures at the monument were built.
