Apache Junction negotiating infrastructure for state land development
City representing water, sewer districts in development deal

Water district officials hope to work as one with the sewer district and the city of Apache Junction in negotiating with developers of Arizona State Trust Land sold late last year.
“Instead of the city doing these agreements, the water district having to do these agreements and the sewer district having these agreements — so now we’re talking 18 different agreements — we’re going to pull them back. What we’re trying to do is form an (intergovernmental agreement) between the city, the water district and the sewer district,” said Mike Loggins, director of the Apache Junction Water Utilities Community Facilities District.
They range from a preliminary annexation and development agreement to a community facility district development agreement, Mr. Loggins said during the Feb. 16 meeting of the water district board, which is comprised of City Council members. The council appoints members to the board of Superstition Mountains Community Facilities District No. 1, the sewer district.
