Casa Grande gets good response for 2020 census

At least 63% of Casa Grande residents responded to the 2020 U.S. Census on their own, city officials were told.

The City Council met Tuesday evening to review its part in the historic census. According to a presentation shown during the study session, 63% of Casa Grande residents responded to the census by internet, mail and phone without a visit by a census taker. During the 2010 census, 63% of Casa Grande residents responded only by mail.

“We’re still doing our job,” U.S. Census Bureau partnership specialist for southern Arizona Maria Vianey Valdez-Cardenas said.
