Housing plans south of downtown Casa Grande advance

The northwest corner of Florence and Ash streets may be developing as the Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday approved a zone change from Garden and Light Industrial to Single-Family Residential.
According to the agenda, the zone change is a good opportunity to provide workforce housing near the downtown and the manufacturing and industrial area of the city.
The site, near the old Ocotillo Elementary School and south of the railroad tracks, is near the new Lucid Motors plant and other industrial employers.
