Queen Creek gets $1.8 million to upgrade traffic signals

Independent Newsmedia

Queen Creek’s town staff was successful in obtaining a $1.8 million dollar grant from Maricopa Association of Governments to upgrade the town’s older traffic signal detection systems and incorporate automated traffic signal performance measures systems.

The project will incorporate many signal system technologies that enable town traffic engineering staff to continuously monitor the road network and to modify intersection performance to meet changing demands. These systems, nor any system owned and operated by the town, are part of a traffic enforcement system.
