Nikola optimistic as it shifts focus in new year

Over the past few months, Nikola Corporation has adjusted its future truck plans, curtailing plans with GM and canceling a refuse truck’s development outright, but also revealing details and progress of the Nikola Tre and Nikola Two vehicles.

This shift of focus was highlighted during a presentation Thursday on Nikola’s 2020 fourth quarter earnings during which Nikola CEO Mark Russell expressed optimism about the company’s recent organizational changes and partnership with the city of Coolidge.

“We took steps to refocus and realign resources,” Russell said. “We now feel Nikola is in the best position the company has ever been to execute on our core business plan.”
